von Joy Alpuerto Ritter

Age 10 and over / Year 5 and above

Surrounded by storm and chaos, a dancer wakes up in the black stage space. In search of her home, she meets other dancers with whom the exchange turns out to be complicated. A dance journey begins, where hip-hop, breaking and modern dance meet contemporary dance and the dance forms begin to flow into each other.

Choreographer Joy Alpuerto Ritter brings the characters of the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz” back to life and shows us a modern interpretation of this world-famous cinematic musical. In the new adaptation, it is staged for the first time as an urban dance fairy tale. Four dancers and a special shoe start their journey, deal with fear, experience exclusion, question hierarchies that seemed self-evident and lose themselves. Can one find oneself in times of crisis?
